How to Naturally Calm Sore Muscles After Your Big Workout

When you’re working out, you’re in the moment. You’re feeling the power and enjoying that aliveness that’s taking over. However, the next day is a different story. It’s pretty normal for you to wake up sore and stiff after a challenging (or even light) work out. At Eurospa, we here a lot about muscle pain and we are used to helping out our happy customers with tips and tricks. There are ways to prevent the ‘normal’ soreness and also natural ways to help heal it quickly.

Stretch Well.
How to Naturally Calm Sore Muscles After Your Big WorkoutThis is first tip because it’s so necessary. No matter how you eat and live, your muscles need to be stretched. Its best to stretch them before (once you’ve warmed up) and after each workout and before bed.
Drink Water.
Muscles need water. If the muscles are dehydrated they can’t function smoothly and will also cramp up.
Calcium / Magnesium.
This is a supplement you should definitely look into. Calcium with magnesium feeds the muscles with what they need to grow, contract well and relax. Take before bed to fall into a restful sleep and avoid sleep cramps.
Limit Caffeine and Alcohol.
Both are incredibly dehydrating to the muscles and both deplete your body of calcium and magnesium. If you do need to have one of the above, drink extra water and boost your vitamins and minerals.
Heat and Eucalyptus.
When eucalyptus essential oil is of a high quality and not processed or diluted, (like our pharmaceutical grade eucalyptus) it has anti-inflammatory and soothing properties that make it a great option when treating sore or over-exercised muscles. Eucalyptus oil can help relax stiff muscles, allowing for pain relief and ease in range of motion and muscle movement.  The best way to enjoy eucalyptus is in the steam of a shower or in the heat of the sauna.  Need tips on that? See below:

  • Add 3-5 drops of straight (neat) eucalyptus oil directly onto sore muscles. Slowly massage into skin. (It's a strong oil thought and it may be best to dilute with coconut oil first, until you know how your body responds)
  • Add 15-50 drops of eucalyptus oil to a hot bath. Combined with the benefits of the oil, the heat of the water encourages muscles to relax and helps reduce next-day stiffness. For additional benefits, Epsom salts can be added to the water as well.
  • The easiest and our favorite option, is to get our Top Grade Eucalyptus Oil Shower Spray and simply spray into the hot steam of your shower - or even into the warmth of any sauna or steam room. You'll not only enjoy the relaxation in your muscles, but you'll be breathing in the anti-inflammatory properties of the eucalyptus, along with every molecule of oxygen that enters your body.

Remember, the body has an amazing ability to heal itself when supported well through lifestyle and proper healthy habits. Pain in the body is also a sign of something else going on, so in addition to getting relief naturally, be sure to investigate the cause with your doctor or natural medicine practitioner.

Eurospa is dedicated to your health on the inside and out. As always, contact us with any questions as we want you on the road to body freedom as joyously as possible!

What To Do During the Day to Have Better Sleep at Night.

What To Do During the Day to Have Better Sleep at Night. It’s so frustrating when you plop into bed after a long day only to lay in bed restless and wait for sleep to come. Or, what can be even more frustrating? When you know you’ve slept, but you feel more tired than when you went to bed.

These cycles are torturous and leave you unproductive and definitely unhappy. If you’ve been facing this for a long time, you might want to talk to your doctor. In the meantime, we have some habits to share with you that just might create the change you’re looking for.

  1. Get checked for anemia. So many people are anemic and don’t know it. Even if you think you get enough iron via supplements and food, iron can be hard to absorb and you might need a different source or higher dose.
  2. Protein and fat before bed: Eat protein and a little fat before bed to keep your blood sugar balanced during sleep. This will help you wake up clearer and without the morning headache. This tip is especially good for people who tend toward low blood sugar issues. One idea? Nut butters. Have a spoonful or make a nut-milk with protein powder drink about 45 min before bed!
  3. Dark room: Having too much light in the room messes with our ability to fall into REM sleep (when we get the most rest). The pituitary gland gets confused, thinks it’s becoming daytime and will cause you to wake up halfway or fully.
  4. Hydration: Stay hydrated all day. Dehydration can actually lead to more frequent toilet trips. As well, a hydrated body is a hydrated brain. A hydrated brain functions far better in the early morning hours than a dehydrated and slow brain.
  5. Media curfew: The blue light in phones and computers are disruptive to the pituitary gland, and keep you from winding down. So set a curfew no less than an hour before bed.
  6. Lavender in the evening:  Treat yourself to a simple massage. Put a few drops of lavender in almond oil and massage slowly and deeply from your feet all the way up to your neck and head, paying extra attention to your temples and forehead.
  7. Eucalyptus oil shower in the morning: Eucalyptus oil, a menthol based plant, is known for increasing blood circulation all over the body, which is especially helpful for the mind. By spraying eucalyptus oil into the steam of your shower, your skin, lungs and mental function will be activated, cleansed and boosted!
  8. Activity; 20-30 minutes of body movement: Get your body moving. Get the oxygen flowing. Yoga, pilates, cardio, weights. They’re all great. Don’t over exhaust yourself but definitely do enough that your body feels tired and ready to rest - not anxious and ready to move.

At Eurospa, we know how important it is to feel good, be energized and well rested. We hope you find these tips helpful. Please enjoy the quality of our eucalyptus products and feel free to contact us with any needs or questions.

Feeling Tired in the Morning? Use These Tips for Better Sleep & More Morning Energy!

Feeling Tired in the Morning? Use These Tips for Better Sleep & More Morning Energy! It’s so discouraging to wake up in the morning and feel like you never went to sleep. If you’re going to feel jet lagged, you should get the vacation that goes with it right? Well if you’re ready to start waking rested and full of energy, you should definitely try these natural and simple tips.
First of all. More caffiene is not the answer even thought most people reach quickly for the nearest cup of coffee on repeat. But have you ever noticed what follows? There’s an afternoon crash that follows around 2 or 3. You reach for another coffee. The caffeine keeps you up until at least 11pm. Then the next day, the cycle repeats.

Not healthy and not helping!

So instead of keeping the fatigue-caffeine-awake-fatigue-caffiene cycle going...

  2. Dark room: Having too much light in the room messes with our ability to fall into REM sleep (when we get the most rest). The pituitary gland gets confused, thinks it’s becoming daytime and will cause you to wake up halfway or fully.
  3. Hydration: Stay hydrated all day. Dehydration can actually lead to more frequent toilet trips. As well, a hydrated body is a hydrated brain. A hydrated brain functions far better in the early morning hours than a dehydrated and slow brain.
  5. High protein within 30 min of waking: So much of our foggy-headedness is due to a lack of nutrients; one of those being protein. Choose the protein that feels most right to you, but we recommend that you consume 20-30 grams. A protein shake is a perfect, quick and easy choice!
  6. 20 ounces of water in the first hour: Back to hydration. Start clear and well. A quick water intake not only starts your body with a gentle morning cleanse, but also fires up your cells with the needed water to function well.
  7. Activity - 5 - 10 minutes of body training: Get your body moving. Get the oxygen flowing. Yoga, pilates, cardio, weights. They’re all great. However, choosing an activity that’s grounding is a great way to boost your day.

At Eurospa, we know how important it is to feel good, be energized and well rested. We hope you find these tips helpful. Please enjoy the quality of our eucalyptus products and feel free to contact us with any needs or questions.

Get Fast & Natural Relief from Bronchial Ailments At Home!

Get Fast & Natural Relief from Bronchial Ailments At Home!Get Fast & Natural Relief from Bronchial Ailments At Home!
It’s no news that bronchial infections, bronchitis and other respiratory ailments are some of the most straining health issues out there. Why? Because we’ve got to breathe.  Everything we do from exercise to sleep involves the need for deep and nourishing breath. If you can breathe - you can’t fully live.

So we at  EuroSpa, want to share a fast way to get breathing relief during just about any bronchial or respiratory challenge - safely and naturally in the comfort of your home.

Bronchial challenges stem from inflammation of the trachea and bronchial tubes, typically resulting from a viral infection, such as a cold or flu. If you get bronchitis once, you tend to get it again. When essential oils are used at the earliest signs of bronchitis, they can help slow or even stop the cycle of inflammation. So the best way to get fast relief is by reducing inflammation. Use these tips to get there fast!
  • Avoid eating mucous-producing foods, such as dairy product, white flour products, and all products containing large amounts of white sugar. A diet of fruits and vegetables only for a week or two is a great diet for bronchitis.
  • Increase your regular intake of water to at least ½ gallon daily. (On a "normal" day, you should be drinking at least half your body weight in ounces)
  • Avoid very dry air by using a diffuser and or getting into steam as often as possible. Add drops of Eucalyptus oil to the diffuser to enhance the effect. Further, get our amazing Eucalyptus oil shower spray and spray it into the shower steam! Your lungs will open up so quickly and the relief feels so good!
  • Stay away from all tobacco or industrial smoke.
  • Generally, avoid cough suppressants, since coughing helps to lift and eliminate the mucous that is generated by the bronchial inflammation.
Relief from bronchitis is possible without the use of dangerous drugs and chemicals. Eurospa knows the difference Eucalyptus makes and is proud to provide you that relief with our very own Eucalyptus oil spray.  Get a bottle of it in your home today!
