How to Protect and Moisturize Dry Skin During Fickle Weather!

How to Protect and Moisturize Dry Skin During Fickle Weather! The sun is shining, wind blowing and the weather is warming up and you’re skin is cracked and thirsty. Not the most complimenting look to your cute new spring outfit, right? Well worry not your dry soul, we at Eurospa have some incredibly useful tips to help you not only moisturize but protect your skin during this crazy changing weather!

Having a dry skin means experiencing tightness due to lack of moisture and a need for a proper lubricant to rehydrate it. Many home remedies can help improve your dry flaky skin on face.

First, Exfoliate
In order to really moisturize your skin, you’ve got to get the layer of dead skin cells out of the way; and believe me, we all have them. There are a few ways to do this.
  1. Dry brush. This is a good practice for the whole body and also flushes your lymph nodes so gives a double bonus!
  2. Equal parts lemon juice and sugar. This leaves your skin soft and glowing. With a circular massage of the skin with this beauty scrub, rough spots on the skin become even. However, sugar is more abrasive and it’s best to avoid the face when using the sugar option. So for the face, you’ll want to sub baking soda for the sugar; the granules are finer and will be more gentle, but still avoid the eye area. The vitamins C in the lemons is a good astringent that lightens the skin tone, removes patches on the skin and encourages cell growth. Mix a teaspoon of sugar and mix it with juice of half a lemon, use cotton balls to scrub all over the face. Put a jar of it on your nightstand and apply it regularly.
  3. Use a peel. We prefer natural brands to chemical formulations, but a natural peel will use the same concept as the vitamin C mentioned above, but with stronger formulations and relies on the fruit acids for exfoliation rather than friction.

After That, Add Water.
Whether you want to use a humidifier or steam, you’ll want to infuse your freshly exfoliated skin with good old H2O. Regardless of what you choose, you can enhance the benefits by adding a few sprays of our eucalyptus oil shower spray to either the humidifier or whatever steam source you are using. If you opt for steam, at quick at home method is to heat water in a pot on the stop, and place a towel over your head with your face near the pot for the diy spa effect. Just spray the eucalyptus once into the pot!

Lastly, Lubricate.
Moisture forms a protective layer on the skin keeping it safe by keeping it hydrated. Oils that are easily absorbed by the skin, such as coconut, jojoba and almond, tend to be better at keeping the real moisture in, allowing the skin the best nourishment possible. Coconut oil makes the skin feel softer and removes its previous scaly characteristic by moistening it in a natural way. Coconut oil has sufficient amounts of fatty acid that make up for any loss of moisture from the skin. It works best when left on for an entire night. Apply proper amount before going to sleep and wash it off in the morning; do this every night.Over the counter creams work well in the beginning but only leave a surface layer of hydration.

How to Get Glowing Skin in Spite of Winter Dryness

Everyone wants that fresh and dewy look and why not? It keeps you looking youthful and full of life and most people love that; even men! But winter can be harsh with all false heating and cold winter wind that dries you up and spits you out! Never you fear though, we at Eurospa specialize in bettering your health and getting your skin to glow with vibrance.

Drink plenty of water:
It’s not easy because you’re cold! Well, that’s simple. Heat it up! You can easily make some hot or warm water and add a splash of lemon or some mint leaves to create some instant flavor. Without being hydrated on the inside, your skin will inevitably stay parched.
Moisturize:
Use a quality, paraben free moisturizer, even in you’ve got oily skin. Moisturizers help to balance the oil production while quenching your skin’s intense thirst!
Exfoliate:
It doesn’t cost a lot for this one. Just sprinkle a little baking soda into your daily cleanser about twice a week to add a little buff and shine to your skin. Baking soda not only sloughs off the dead skin, but also helps neutralize your skin’s sensitive ph naturally and affordably!
Steam:
Open up your pores and both cleanse and nourish them in the steam of your shower for totally hydration and renewal. Add only the best eucalyptus oil shower spray, to the steam and your shower will turn into a total spa experience. You won’t believe the glow you’ll get from just this one tip! Eucalyptus cleanses the skin but also increases circulation, bringing more blood to the flush of your cheeks and more oxygen to each thirsty cell!

3 Easy Ways to Keep Beat Dry Skin in the Middle of Winter

3 Easy Ways to Keep Beat Dry Skin in the Middle of WinterDry skin is an uncomfortable byproduct of winter. Going from an overly heated car or indoor space into the crisp cold winter air can be a real shock to your skin, causing tightening, dehydration and flaking. Nobody wants that. That’s why we want to share some tried and true natural fixes to an annoying problem.

Here are 3 Easy Ways to Keep Beat Dry Skin in the Middle of Winter

Exfoliation
An exfoliating scrub made by concocting lemon juice and sugar leaves your skin soft and glowing. With a circular massage of the skin with this beauty scrub, rough spots on the face become even.

Steam
Winter is not a friend to dry skin. The heating in homes evaporate the water from the air, which makes the air very dry. Humidifiers come in useful at a time like this by adding moisture to the air, and thus benefiting your dry skin. Either humidify the whole room or get a portable humidifier. We definitely recommend adding a few sprays of our eucalyptus oil shower spray to the room to enhance the health and wellness benefits. Eucalyptus in the air will not only open up the bronchial passages for better respiratory health and to cleanse the skin!

Moisturize
Moisture forms a protective layer on the skin keeping it safe by keeping it hydrated. Oils that are easily absorbed by the skin, such as coconut, jojoba and almond, tend to be better at keeping the real moisture in, allowing the skin the best nourishment possible. Coconut oil makes the skin feel softer and removes its previous scaly characteristic by moistening it in a natural way. Coconut oil has sufficient amounts of fatty acid that make up for any loss of moisture from the skin. It works best when left on for an entire night. Apply proper amount before going to sleep and wash it off in the morning; do this every night. Over the counter creams work well in the beginning but only leave a surface layer of hydration.

Bonus tip?
Drink more water and reduce your caffeine intake. Caffeine dehydrates the skin cells and causes inflammation. Drinking water does the opposite; calms the skin and nourishes the cells, causing you to adapt to the changing temperatures more easily and beautifully!

Winter Hack: Natural Ways to Keep Your Body Warm All Day Long

http://amzn.to/1UtV0zONobody likes that eternally cold feeling that leaves your fingers aching and toes numb. So it’s good to know that there are ways to keep warm during the winter without bringing an electric blanket along for the day. I can’t imagine that being very efficient but if you figure out how to do it, please share your tips!

Unless you spend your winters on an island, it’s likely that you’ll experience some degree of cold. Your job is to make sure your body feels warm. Why? Well when the body’s working hard to keep you warm, it’s too tired to protect you from viruses and germs. In other words, your body’s immune system needs to be protected so it can do it’s best to keep you well. And since we don’t want you getting sick all season long, it’s best to keep you warm.

Here are some life hack styled tips to keep you warm all winter long:

“Fire Tea” -  This one’s simple, delicious and comes with many benefits on top of keeping you warm. Just pour yourself a mug of hot (not boiling) water. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into it. Add honey or stevia to taste. Then add cayenne pepper. How much you add is up to you, but you do want to be able to taste it. The combination will not only boost your immune system but will also help you stay warm, thanks to the cayenne increasing circulation all over your body.
“Hot Socks” - Another easy one. Did you know that cayenne works on the skin too? Just grab your socks and carefully sprinkle it into the toe and foot part of your sock. The powdered pepper will be absorbed into your feet through your pores and keep your feet warm. Be warned, don’t put it in your gloves. You don’t want the pepper going from your fingers to your eyes. OUCH.

“Sweat it Out” Bring the heat in through your shower. Run a hot steamy shower and seal up the bathroom to keep in the heat. Then add a few sprays of Eucalyptus Shower Mist or Eucamint Shower Mist into your shower. The Eucalyptus will help boost circulation (keeping your muscles warm internally), cleanse your respiratory system and if you go with the Eucamint, the mint will leave you extra invigorated and boost your energy. More benefits here.

“Get Layered” Wear more layers. Yes, it’s that simple. Invest in a thin yet warm set of under layers to wear under your normal clothes. Then, lower the heat in your home. Keeping the heat to high adds too much contrast to your body temperature and stresses the immune system. Teach your body to acclimate rather that constantly be faced with shock.

There are simple ways to stay warm in the winter naturally and without a load of extra costs. Remember, helping your body stay warm helps your immune system to stay strong. At Eurospa, your health is our priority. Please contact us with any questions and interest!

How to Use a Sauna for Better Winter Health!

How to Use a Sauna for Better Winter Health!
Fall has begun and winter is just around the corner. This means school germs, colder temperatures and weakened immune systems. But don’t spend the next couple seasons nursing colds and flus. Instead be resourceful with natural cold prevention and immune support.

You may have heard people talking about saunas and steam rooms lately. That’s because they’re being used various places all over world as a way to not only be healthy but look and feel healthy too.

We at Eurospa are the experts. Here’s how they work:

How to Use a Sauna for Better Winter Health!Saunas are wooden rooms that can hold anywhere from 2 to 20 people, depending on size. They are meant to be very hot inside with temperatures usually ranging from 100 - 150 degrees fahrenheit. They are usually made of cedar, which is both antibacterial and smells amazing. On one side, you’ll find a container or stones and likely a bucket of water.  These stones rest on the heater and keep the space hot. When you add water to the stones, steam is created, bringing the often needed moisture back to the air, but also feels great for the lungs.

Saunas are incredibly beneficial to the body as they relax the muscles, increase circulation in the body and open the pores and airways. This leads to the support of your respiratory, circulatory, musculo-skeletal and nervous system, as well as your skin.

How to Use a Sauna for Better Winter Health!
It’s best to use saunas regularly, anywhere from twice per month to three times weekly. How to do it:

  • Stay Hydrated. Drink about a liter of water (slowly/gradually) before entering the sauna, sip as needed while using it and then re-hydrate after use just as you did before you used it.
  • Scrub off your dead skin cells. All that heat will detox your skin. Make sure to exfoliate it off to keep your skin from becoming clogged, but also get added muscle relaxation and a youthful healthy glow.
  • Enhance with Eucalyptus Oil Spray. Eucalyptus also supports the body’s respiratory, circulatory and immune system. Simply spray the mist into the steam of the room and breathe in deeply. You’ll be getting a spa treatment on the inside as well as the outside.
  • If you can, finish with a cold shower. This seals up the skin cells and also works as an anti-inflammatory. (think of icing an injury) Being in the heat relaxes you and the cold will finish it up, waking you up and bringing any remaining inflammation down.

Using a sauna at all is a great first step to creating better health. We use them regularly and have been providing high quality Eucalyptus oil products to homes and commercial spas for over 30 years. If you would like to get your own Eucalyptus oil spray for both sauna and shower, click here. To find out more information, please feel free to contact us at Eurospa today!

Get the Best Essential Oils to Boost Your Immune System for Winter!

Get the Best Essential Oils to Boost Your Immune System for Winter!Incorporating essential oils into your daily routine will help keep your immune system stronger, shorten your recovery time from illness and uplift your spirits when the winter weather keeps you inside a bit more than you would like. Pure therapeutic essential oils have the ability to work with the body on a spiritual, mental and physical plane to bring the body to a place of balance and harmony. Take care of your health and get the best essential oils to boost your immune system for winter.
Two or three drops of rosemary oil or eucalyptus oil shower spray on the bottom of the shower before you turn the water on will disperse into the air and as you breathe it in you are supporting your immune system. Diffusing lemon, lime or grapefruit essential oil into the air of your home or office not only uplifts the spirits, it inhibits the growth of bacteria, making indoor air safer to inhale. (For best results, diffuse essential oils diluted in water.)
At the first sign of a cold or sinus infection try a facial steam with lavender or tea tree oil. Place two drops of the pure oil in a glass bowl then fill with hot water. Place a towel over your head, close your eyes and breathe the steam deeply in through your nose. You are breathing in these pure antibacterial and antiviral essential oils. Do this two or three times during the day as the infection is beginning and it will often shorten the length of sickness or even stop you from becoming sick altogether. If you can’t do a steam, try dropping a few drops of the essential oils on a tissue and breathe it in throughout the day. You will still be getting the therapeutic effects of the oils.
Salt or sugar body scrubs that have been blended with pure essential oils are a winter skin must-have. When you stimulate the surface of the skin with a scrub it brings blood to the surface and helps rid the body of toxins through the pores. Doing a body scrub with peppermint or rosemary oil in the shower boosts the immune system while leaving your skin clean, soft and moisturized.
Here are my top must haves for winter immune boosting:
Lavender:  for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties as well as its ability to help us relax and rest. Mix with a carrier oil and pat it gently on to your face with the palms of your hands.
Tea Tree: is antiviral and is an excellent immune stimulant. Mix into the above oil blend for increased immune benefits.
Eucalyptus: is anti-infectious and antiviral, fighting off infections. Use the eucalyptus oil shower spray in your shower steam to really open up your bronchial passages for respiratory health.
Rosemary: is antiseptic and astringent and helps fight bacteria.
Lemon: is an immune stimulant as well as an antiseptic, which makes it an excellent choice to diffuse into winter air. Get a therapeutic grade lemon oil and put a couple drops in your tea or cold water bottle to boost your system while cleansing it at the same time. Take caution and never ingest food grade (or lesser grade oils); only ingest certified pure therapeutic grade lemon oil
Peppermint: for its analgesic, anti-infectious properties. Pat a small amount on your temples and at the base of your neck to relieve tension and pressure. Inhale the scent to give your energy a boost in the morning and throughout the day as well!
Whichever method you choose to incorporate essential oils into your life this winter, I encourage you to buy pure, high quality oils from a company you trust and use them wisely, as these oils are medicines. Be safe and handle them with respect.
