6 Ways Eucalyptus Oil Can Benefit Your Body's Health!

6 Ways Eucalyptus Oil Can Benefit Your Body's Health!Eucalyptus oil is the most commonly used oil for aromatherapy. It has a strong camphor like scent and especially powerful germicidal properties. Do you know all the ways Eucalyptus can benefit your body's health?  And there are just as many ways to use the oil as there are benefits! For example, if you place a just a few drops in an aromatherapy diffuse, you will kill 70 percent of staphylococcus bacteria in a room. In addition, researchers in India found eucalyptus to be effective against several strains of E. coli.  All of this is due to eucalyptus oil being anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, decongestant, deodorant, antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, expectorant, febrifuge, vermifuge, immune-stimulant, antibiotic, diuretic, analgesic, and cephalic (aids concentration). How many essential oils (or over the counter medicines for that matter) can both cool the body in summer and protect the body in winter? This is why Eurospa is so dedicated to making the finest eucalyptus oil product available to you for both home and spa.

Here are 6 ways Eucalyptus oil can benefit your body's health today!

Wounds and infections - Eucalyptus is a traditional treatment for malaria. (The trees are planted in swamps in North Africa to prevent the spread of malaria as well.) It is effective against other insects' bites and stings as well. Its germicidal properties provide antiseptic protection to wounds, burns, cuts, abrasions, and ulcers. It promotes healing in slow healing wounds, helping new tissue form where needed. Eucalyptus has a history of effective use against childhood illnesses and infections such as cholera, measles, scarlet fever, mumps, tuberculosis, and typhoid. Combine with chamomile and lavender in baths for chicken pox. Also useful against UTIs and candida, herpes simplex virus, and shingles blisters. Add eucalyptus oil to a cold compress to help bring down fever. It tonifies the thymus gland, boosting immunity.

Pain Relief - Eucalyptus is effective against muscle and joint pain. From migraines to rheumatism, lumbago to sprained ligaments and tendons, and fibrositis to general aches and pains; eucalyptus is an effective, local pain killer. The analgesic and anti-inflammatory nature can even relieve nerve pain. Massage the oil in a circular motion on the affected area.

Manage disease - Eucalyptus oil is effective at lowering blood sugar (diabetes) and relieving pain (fibromyalgia). It is one of several essential oils found to have comparable action to traditional antibiotics against disease-causing hospital pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureusStreptococcus C and D, various species of ProteusKlebsiella spp., Salmonella typhi, Haemophilus influenza, and more.

Mental stimulant - Most ill people are down - depressed, experience brain fog and are fatigued. Eucalyptus stimulates the mind, aids concentration, and relieves mental exhaustion. It has a cooling effect upon strong emotions, rejuvenating the spirit and relieving stress. It leaves you refreshed and more balanced. Effective treatment for convalescence. A combination of eucalyptus and peppermint applied topically to forehead and temples was shown in a double blind study to relieve headaches better than acetaminophen and aspirin. It was found to increase intellectual capacities and logical thought processes.

Personal hygiene - Eucalyptus benefits skin, hair, and teeth. From acne and blemishes to dandruff, sunburn to repelling insects, eucalyptus has many uses in the personal care area. It is useful against cavities, gingivitis, and other dental infections as well.

Household uses - Add eucalyptus to homemade soaps. It is often found in toothpastes, detergents, and mouthwash. Use it for pet care, such as a flea deterrent for dogs. Add eucalyptus oil to saunas, spas, and bathtubs to disinfect and refresh. Use to disinfect and deodorize rooms. Remove tar from clothes or skin harmlessly with this oil as well. (naturalnews.com)

Get the Best Essential Oils to Boost Your Immune System for Winter!

Get the Best Essential Oils to Boost Your Immune System for Winter!Incorporating essential oils into your daily routine will help keep your immune system stronger, shorten your recovery time from illness and uplift your spirits when the winter weather keeps you inside a bit more than you would like. Pure therapeutic essential oils have the ability to work with the body on a spiritual, mental and physical plane to bring the body to a place of balance and harmony. Take care of your health and get the best essential oils to boost your immune system for winter.
Two or three drops of rosemary oil or eucalyptus oil shower spray on the bottom of the shower before you turn the water on will disperse into the air and as you breathe it in you are supporting your immune system. Diffusing lemon, lime or grapefruit essential oil into the air of your home or office not only uplifts the spirits, it inhibits the growth of bacteria, making indoor air safer to inhale. (For best results, diffuse essential oils diluted in water.)
At the first sign of a cold or sinus infection try a facial steam with lavender or tea tree oil. Place two drops of the pure oil in a glass bowl then fill with hot water. Place a towel over your head, close your eyes and breathe the steam deeply in through your nose. You are breathing in these pure antibacterial and antiviral essential oils. Do this two or three times during the day as the infection is beginning and it will often shorten the length of sickness or even stop you from becoming sick altogether. If you can’t do a steam, try dropping a few drops of the essential oils on a tissue and breathe it in throughout the day. You will still be getting the therapeutic effects of the oils.
Salt or sugar body scrubs that have been blended with pure essential oils are a winter skin must-have. When you stimulate the surface of the skin with a scrub it brings blood to the surface and helps rid the body of toxins through the pores. Doing a body scrub with peppermint or rosemary oil in the shower boosts the immune system while leaving your skin clean, soft and moisturized.
Here are my top must haves for winter immune boosting:
Lavender:  for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties as well as its ability to help us relax and rest. Mix with a carrier oil and pat it gently on to your face with the palms of your hands.
Tea Tree: is antiviral and is an excellent immune stimulant. Mix into the above oil blend for increased immune benefits.
Eucalyptus: is anti-infectious and antiviral, fighting off infections. Use the eucalyptus oil shower spray in your shower steam to really open up your bronchial passages for respiratory health.
Rosemary: is antiseptic and astringent and helps fight bacteria.
Lemon: is an immune stimulant as well as an antiseptic, which makes it an excellent choice to diffuse into winter air. Get a therapeutic grade lemon oil and put a couple drops in your tea or cold water bottle to boost your system while cleansing it at the same time. Take caution and never ingest food grade (or lesser grade oils); only ingest certified pure therapeutic grade lemon oil
Peppermint: for its analgesic, anti-infectious properties. Pat a small amount on your temples and at the base of your neck to relieve tension and pressure. Inhale the scent to give your energy a boost in the morning and throughout the day as well!
Whichever method you choose to incorporate essential oils into your life this winter, I encourage you to buy pure, high quality oils from a company you trust and use them wisely, as these oils are medicines. Be safe and handle them with respect.
Eurospa is dedicated to your health and well being. Please let us know how we can further support your healthy lifestyle!

Surprising Health Benefits of Steam Rooms and Saunas You'll Enjoy!

Surprising Health Benefits of Steam Rooms and Saunas You'll Enjoy! If you have have had the pleasure of enjoying a sauna or steam room, you know it’s worth every penny of investment for your health, your skin and your mental well being. At Eurospa, we design our products, like our Eucalyptus Oil Spray, to enhance your steam room and sauna experience. We believe your health and wellness should be a top priority, because you deserve to have a healthy and vibrant life.
But do you know the benefits of steam rooms and saunas?
The benefits of saunas and steam baths are widely reported. Heat therapy helps to relieve stress and improve health overall. Perspiration stimulates circulation, sooths tired muscles, reduces nervous tension, and promotes healthier and more beautiful skin. You’ll probably get a better night’s sleep, too.
Here are some other benefits to sauna bathing:
  • Gives a cardiovascular workout and helps condition the heart by increasing heart rate and improving circulation. Better circulation allows more oxygen to reach injured areas of the body and helps reduce pain and speed up the healing process.
  • Soothes and relaxes tired muscles, especially before and after exercise. Heat therapy loosens the muscles and relaxes the body. Many massage therapists use heat to provide more thorough and effective treatment.
  • Cleanses skin: Sweating opens pores in the skin and flushes unhealthy toxins, loosens and expels dead cells, softens the skin and clears the complexion. The result: a more beautiful you.
  • The body eliminates most toxins naturally by sweating and heat therapy speeds up this natural process. Heat therapy stimulates the sweat glands, helping to cleanse and detoxify the body of sodium, alcohol, nicotine, cholesterol and carcinogenic heavy metals (cadmium, lead, zinc, nickel). Excess moisture and subcutaneous fat can be reduced, as well.
  • May help to relieve allergies and sinus congestion.
  • During a 10-20 minute sauna session, your heart rate increases by 50-75%. This provides the same metabolic result as physical exercise. Combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise, sauna bathing can burn as many as 300 calories during each session, which is equal to running 2-3 miles and taking a brisk walk. There is a slight effect on blood pressure because the heat also causes blood vessels to expand, thus accommodating increased blood flow.
We are happy that you are taking the time to invest in your health, because you deserve it. Please, feel free to stop by and see what further products and services we have to offer. Have a beautiful day!

Fight Back-to-School Germs With This Home Remedy List

Fight Back to School Germs With This Home Remedy ListIt's back-to-school time and for most parents, that means germs, colds and sick days!  It doesn't have to
be that way though.  In addition to time tested habits like hand washing and covering your coughs and sneezes, we have some simple tricks to share with you on how to fight back-to-school germs with this easy home remedy list. We know you are too busy to be dragged down by sickness, so be sure to heed these helpful tips!

Vitamin D.
If your child isn’t getting enough of this vitamin through food sources, you can consider any number of vitamin D3 supplements which contribute to bone health by creating optimum conditions for bone formation, in addition to supporting proper function of the immune and nervous systems.* For younger children, liquid D is a great option as it can be dropped right on the tongue or mixed in with foods or beverages.
Aloe Vera
The aloe vera plant contains over 200 biologically active components, and has been used for centuries in folk natural medicine and as a product ingredient. Its constituents are used in many forms, including it's juice which enhances healthy immune function, digestion and gums. It's incredibly detoxifying but the flavor can be strong to some. If adding it to food, you may want to try an already strong flavor combination like apple, mango and banana.
In topical form, it’s often used for soothing skin and is even a common  ingredient in hand sanitizers. Having it on hand means that, in addition to using it on its own, you can make your own customized version.
Lavender oil
Essential oils not only scent your hand sanitizers, but also add increased amounts of antibacterial properties! One of the most versatile plant essential oils, lavender’s name is derived from the Latin word “lavera,” which means to wash. It’s both gentle and effective in balancing the skin, and has a soothing and calming effect. You need only add a tiny amount to your recipe.
Eucalyptus Oil
Eucalyptus oil is also a great option. Steam distilled from the leaves of the Eucalyptus plant, this oil is known for its cooling, soothing effects. As well, it's anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory, not only killing germs but can be used symptomatically as well.  Use this shower mist both to clean surfaces of germs and bacteria and in the shower to open bronchial passages and clear the sinuses!
Peppermint Oil
Peppermint, like Eucalyptus, contains menthol and menthone, as well as rosmarinic acid and flavonoids such as hesperidin and luteolin. Again, a little essential oil goes a long way. Steam distill this or make a tea.  The effects are cooling, soothing and will help those stuffy noses feel much lighter and clearer!

Your health is our priority at Eurospa.  We hope you find these tips helpful and would love to hear from you.  Let us know how we can make your life even better!

Don't Stress! Making Natural Cleaning Supplies at Home is Easy!

clean your home with non-toxic cleaning supplies you can make yourself easily and simply with baking soda, vinegar, tea tree oil and eucalyptus from Eurospa
You may think it takes too much time and effort to make your own natural cleaning supplies at home, but it's easier than you realize and studies show us that toxic, conventional cleaning supplies are bad or your health, your child's health and the health of the planet.

The truth is, these recipes are simple and you will feel great peace of mind knowing that you are bettering the overall health of your home.  We've gathered the ingredients needed for you to make the most basic, natural multi-purpose cleaning supplies, quickly and convenient for your busy schedule.

Ready for it?

Here's what you're going to need:

  • baking soda
  • white vinegar
  • lemons
  • castille soap
  • essential oils (lemon, tea tree, lavender, thyme, eucalyptus & orange are all options)
  • spray bottles

For the Windows: For those that love vinegar, you're going to love this one. You just mix 3 tablespoons of vinegar with 2 cups of water into a spray bottle (bigger jobs - 1/2 cup V to 1 gal of H2O) and spray right on to your windows. Is this effective?  Yes. Does it smell good? No. If you can't handle the smell, a mix of lemon juice and club soda will do the trick just as well. Do make sure that if you use lemon juice, you use lint free cloth like newspaper to wipe them down with.  (you can also add a little lemon juice to the vinegar solution as well, just avoid pulp)

All Purpose Germ Killer: This one is easy. Mix 2 cups of water with a few drops of castille soap and about 15 drops of your chosen essential oils. You can spray this on all kinds of surfaces in your home from changing tables  and fixtures to counter tops and walls. Just don't use it on glass, because the soap will make it streak.  Additionally, you can use our own Eucalyptus Shower Spray, not only to enrich your shower experience but also to cleanse the air by spraying it into the air and on to surfaces.

For the Toilets:  Everyone's favorite place to clean right?  This one is simple.  You can take some of the window cleaner you made (preferably with the lemon juice) and spray generously around and inside the toilet.  Then sprinkle some baking soda on top of it and let it sit for about 10 minutes.  Come back, scrub and watch it shine!

Prevent Mold: Mold is incredibly dangerous for you and your family and once it starts, it's extremely hard to get rid of!  So start with prevention.  Take a spray bottle with 2 cups of water and add about 5 drops of tea tree and thyme oil to the bottle.  Spray on walls, in closets, in bathrooms and behind furniture and then wipe down.  The anti-septic and anti-mircrobial nature of tea tree and eucalyptus oil will combat the mold before it really has a chance to take over.

At Eurospa, your health is our priority.  We want you healthy on the inside and out.   We hope you enjoyed this list and would like to invite you to experience our Eucalyptus Shower Mist & Menthol Crystals for an even more enhanced, natural health experience!

Can't Get to the Spa? Create Your Own Spa Night!

sit back, relax and let the water help you unwind. breathe in deeply as the steam and eucalyptus travel into your lungs and rejuvenate your spirit
Getting to the spa can be a costly adventure but we all deserve to wind down.  What if you could have the perks of the spa at home?  After all, whether it's work or family, your days and weeks can become exhausting and it's good to reward yourself with relaxation and rejuvenation.

Why?

For one thing, STRESS.  We all know the word and feelings that come with it very well.  Stress not only tenses the muscles in the body but is also believed to be connected to other health issues such as higher blood pressure, headaches and ulcers.

Treat your body well no matter your finances or schedule.  I want to share with you some simple ways to relax and create your own spa night in the comfort of your own home.

Pumice your Feet
These are great and easy to find at any local store with shower or beauty supplies in the bath or body section and cost under 3 dollars!   Use these to gently scrub dead skin off of calloused and dry places, paying close care not to over scrub or damage the skin.  This will exfoliate unnecessary discomfort and build up from your skin, allowing new skin to come through in a healthy and glowing way.

Walk in an Ice Bath
This is a common European and Asian tradition for bettering your circulation and general relaxation.  If you are doing this at home, I recommend getting a tub of cold water and ice and placing it either on the bathroom floor or just outside the bathroom.  Stand or sit with your water in the tub while moving your toes and feet in opposing motions for  just a few moments.  Then...

Create a Steam Room
Once you've used your makeshift ice bath, enjoy some heat.  Either jump into a steaming shower or fill up your tub (before the ice bath)  with some hot water.   Enhance the experience with some eucalyptus shower spray.  It will not only smell nice but further relax your muscles, expand your breathing passages and attack unwanted viruses and bacteria.

Stretch
Don't underestimate the power of deep and gentle stretching.  Allow the renewed circulation and heat of the water to pour into your muscles to aid in their relaxation and healing.  Roll your neck from side to side, roll your shoulders and do some gentle twists to really get deep into the tension and let it out.

Breathe Deeply
Don't forget to breathe.  It's the oxygen coming into the brain and the muscles that causes the rest of the body to relax and heal.   So when you breathe, breathe deeply.  If you are lucky enough to have the Eucalyptus oil in the air, breathe that much more deeply and be a blessing to your lungs, heart and stress level.

Your body goes through so much environmental, physical and emotional stress each day.  At Eurospa, we believe that the body needs to be nurtured through this to experience good health and positive life quality.

Do your best and be gentle with yourself.  Life is a gift.  Live it well.

Cure Your Headache at Home With Eucalyptus Oil!

Headaches can be a real day stopper and have the unpleasant gift of showing up at the most inconvenient times!  I don't like over the counter medicine and love to find alternatives.  So, when a headache shows up during my busy day of work, the house and kids, I need some ways to cure the pain at home with quick and natural remedies.

I gathered up my tried and true and am happy to share with you my favorite ways to cure a headache at home:

Eucalyptus Oil:

Applying eucalyptus oil to your forehead can be incredibly soothing for stress headaches in the same manner as peppermint oil. (see below) Like peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil can soothe, relax muscles and clear nasal passages.  It's great to inhale as well, because it has anti microbial properties that can help attack germs and viruses that may be causing the headache. Either put a few drops of eucalyptus oil into a bowl of steaming water and inhale deeply or take advantage of our Eucalyptus Oil Shower Spray, while enjoy a nice shower or bath!

Peppermint Oil:

This is a good one to keep in the car!  Store a little bottle of peppermint oil in your glove box for those headaches on the go. Rubbing even a few drops on your temples has proven to relieve the pain of tension headaches. Peppermint oil creates a relaxing cooling sensation once in contact with the skin and helps ease the tension in your head and neck muscles. The scent also has the power to calm your nerves and clear your sinus passages, which can help greatly if your headache is caused by stress or sinus pressure.

Lavender Oil:

Lavender's scent has an incredibly strong effect on the nervous system, including relieving problems such as sleep issues, anxiety and stress, which can all contribute to headaches. Some evidence suggests that lavender can even help relieve the pain of even the migraines! Simply place a few drops of lavender essential oil on your pillow, create a spray by diluting the oil in water and spray into the room around you, create a lavender sachet or brew a cup of lavender tea to take full advantage of this natural headache reliever.

Of course there are some other common home remedies that should not be forgotten.

  • Hydrate!  Try to drink 2-3 liters per day.
  • Sleep!  Get 7-9 hours each night.
  • Massage!  Gently massage your middle and index finger at your temples.
  • Relax! We over schedule ourselves too often.  Stop.  Pause.  Breathe deeply.

Take charge of your health with the power of natural medicine!  We love doing what we can to help which is why we began Eurospa in the first place.  Come visit us and see how we can make your world a healthier place!

How Can Eucalyptus Help Your Hair??

Many people already know that Eucalyptus is a powerfully medicinal tree found in Australia and is widely known to go hand in hand with the adorable koala bear.  However, it's value reaches far deeper than that.  We love to educate people on it's anti-microbial properties, antiseptic nature, deodorant, decongestant, anti-inflammatory and even respiratory aid when the eucalyptus oil is added to the healing steam of a sauna or shower.

Maybe you already know all of this.

Maybe you are ready to move on to a new topic.  How CAN Eucalyptus help your hair??

Everyone, whether man or woman, likes to have a head full of clean, healthy and shining hair.  In our modern world full of air conditioning, heating, drastic climates, environmental change, products, straightening and curling, chlorine and even daily washing, we've learned that our hair isn't bullet proof and these factors do affect the quality and sheen of the hair.

About the hair...

Each strand has at the base of it's shaft, a follicle,  which is comprised of a produced protein substance called keratin and a little moisture.  The strands of hair are moisturized by an oil gland in the follicle that also protects the hair.

So now that we understand the hair itself and the abuse we put it through.. let's look at some ways to repair the damage done.

About the solution...

First let's start with massage.  Feel free to directly apply the oil to your scalp and gently massage with your fingers in a circular motion, encouraging hair growth.  Alternatively, you can also mix a few drops of the concentrated oil with a base such as olive or Castor oil.  Warm the mixture at a low temperature and then do the same gentle circular massage with your finger tips. This not only improves your blood circulation, stimulating hair growth, but also makes your hair shine with a healthy glow!

Eucalyptus oil can also help in getting rid of dandruff, which is not only unsightly but also clogs the pores, making it difficult for the hair to grow.  Remember, when aiding our hair in it's growth, we want to make sure we are getting the stimulation needed and the roadblocks out of the way! When using eucalyptus oil for dandruff,  you simply have to mix 8 to10 drops of the oil into your shampoo and gently massage your scalp for a few minutes (preferably allowing the oil to activate in the steam of the shower so you get the other health benefits as well!  Breathe in that steam!). This method is also beneficial in getting rid of head lice and their eggs, so parents are wise to keep this oil handy and keep the little one's heads safe against that invasion!

Another benefit of eucalyptus oil is that in can increase the elasticity of your hair.  So many of us know how frustrating it can be when you are trying to grow out your hair in to luxurious locks only to loose your progress to breakage and more split ends. When doing both of the above treatments, you will happily enjoy stronger hair - more resistant to further breakage and split ends.

All in all, it's an incredible oil from a miraculous plant.

What have YOU got to say?   Do you have a great way that Eucalyptus Oil has done wonders for your hair or simply your life?  Let us know!  We'd love to hear from you!
