Protect Your Skin From Damage and Burns With these Easy Tips.

The temperature has been rising steadily and it’s easy to forget to care for our skin. Since your skin is the biggest organ on your body and the one that gives your age away - it’s wise to protect it. So we are going to share some easy tips to caring for your skin if it does get burned and how to avoid the burn all together.

Protect Your Skin From Damage and Burns With these Easy Tips.

Take good care of your skin.  Spray the burn with diluted lavender oil.  Or, grab our own Eucalyptus Oil Shower Mist .If you choose to go with the lavender, just mix a few drops to a cup of water and pour into a clean spray bottle. Shake well before using. Both lavender and eucalyptus are good for mild (first-degree) burns of any kind.

Treat often… Repeat the above steps.  Before you go to bed and once you get up in the morning, shower again. It will not only feel soothing, but it will steal the heat from the skin, speeding the healing along. Make sure you do another spray down session with your Lavender or Eucalyptus Spray before you go to bed, to really make sure those oils can use the night to penetrate into your skin.

Stay hydrated...Try to moisturize as often as possible each day after you get that blessed sunburn and drink plenty of water. I'm not kidding.  DRINK A LOT OF WATER.  I can't stress that enough. Sunburns dry out the skin immensely. Staying hydrated on the inside and out will keep your many skin layers from dying and peeling.  And we don't want peely skin! We want supple, moist and glowing skin!!

Become a shade dweller. As long as you have that burn, stay in the shade.  You will only prolong and aggravate the healing process by exposing your skin to more sun.  So stay cool, covered and moisturized!

Wear loose clothing… Your skin is particularly sensitive right now and the nicest thing you can do for it is to wear loose fitting natural fabrics.  Just say NO to poly blends!  Cotton and hemp fabrics are breathable and soft on the healing skin.  If you want to heal fast, you've got to baby the skin and treat it as gently as possible.

Lastly … To keep that youthful glow, stay hydrated, moisturize often and use the essential oil routine regularly. These daily practices will keep nourishing your skin and will continue to protected from normal environmental harm.

We love your health and want you to feel good.  That's why we at Eurospa do what we do. So let us know what we can do for you!

end! It's important not to get lazy and make sure we are continuing to take care of our skin to ensure we are protected from harmful melanoma and also the fine lines, spots and premature aging that happen as well! I don't think I need to spend too much time on sunscreen, because by now, we all know that we need to properly defend our skin from the strong rays of the sun. But I do want to remind you to sunscreen your face even when you won't be in the sun.  The skin on the face is like a sun magnet and shows the most damage.  Protect.

In the case that you still end up with a burn, here are some ways to not only heal that sunburn fast and naturally at home, but also soothe, heal and hydrate the skin on deeper levels, leaving more protection for the future.

Sugar Overdose? Be Prepared With These Natural Home Remedies!

With summer holidays and celebrations abounding, an overdose of sugar is almost inevitable.  But who'd really going to be able to resist the temptation of baked goodies and frozen treats?  We don't want you to feel restricted.  So, since we can assume there may be some random cases of sugar overdose, make sure to be prepared with these natural home remedies!

WATER UP
I can't say it enough.  Any ache, pain, ailment.....  always reach for water first! You need to stay hydrated in general but when we are adding summer heat and sugar to the equation, you're only going to exacerbate it!  If you are drinking alcohol or coffee as well, you will be adding to additional dehydration.  So, stay sober and healthy or add tons of water to the mix to both flush toxins and keep the body hydrated.

JUST ADD HEAT
You'd be surprised how much this helps.  Now, if you're nauseous or if you are already hot outside, this can make it worse, so check your symptoms. But if you're indoors or cool enough, I've found this can really help calm the spasms and relax the ache.  Grab a hot water bottle or heating pad and apply to the ache.  Or jump in with two feet and immerse yourself in a hot bath or sauna.  I prefer this method, as you also sweat some of the impurities and toxins that may be contributing to the symptoms.

TWIST IT:
Just like wringing out a wet towel of it's moisture, twisting your body can aid in releasing toxins stored in your intestines or stomach lining.  It's very simple.  You just sit down on the floor with your back straight up and your legs outstretched, together in front of you.  Now, bend and pull your left leg up and place your foot on the floor, with your knee standing up and your foot touching your inner right thigh.  Now take a deep breath, and as you exhale, slowly turn your body to the left as far as you can go, exhaling all the air out.  Then, as you twist back to center, inhale gently.  Switch legs and repeat this process on the other side.  Keep doing this if you can for 3-5 repetitions and then lay flat on your back and relax.  Your belly will thank you.

ESSENTIAL OILS:
There are a few ways to ease your stomach ache with essential oils.  One, is to place a couple drops of peppermint oil or tincture into your glass of water. (It's important to remember that you should aim to stay hydrated during this time anyway.  While that may not sound appealing, the peppermint will help ease that distaste.) Next, it's good to have a bottle of Eucalyptus Oil Shower Mist on hand anyway, for many reasons!  One being that you can add it to the steam of the above suggested bath for internal relaxation and refreshment; great for internal spasms! Another use being that you can grab a little caster oil, mixed with a little coconut oil and rub that gently on your abdomen.  Then spray the eucalyptus onto your belly and rub in a clockwise motion.  The oils will carry the anti microbial and anti-spasmatic power of the eucalyptus into your body and allow them to work their healing magic.

Nobody wants sugar to put a damper on their summer fun, but if you end up with the aches and pains, it's comforting to know that there are options out there that are natural and efficient in bringing healing and relief.

It's Getting HOT. Here are Some Fast and Easy Tips for Keeping Cool This Summer!

Summer is upon us and the heat is on!  How are you keeping cool?  If you are like many others at this time in the year, you are looking for some fast and easy ways to keep cool during those high temperatures.
It's Getting HOT. Here are Some Fast and Easy Tips for Keeping Cool This Summer!

Well, never fear, your body health and comfort are our priority at Eurospa, and we would like to take a moment to share with your our fast and easy tips for keeping cool this summer!

  • Get a fan for your room. A fan on a low setting that can keep a light breeze blowing across your room can work wonders. If you don't like air blowing directly on you while you sleep, you can still make your room cooler by using a fan in your window to circulate fresh air.
  • Put a small pillow in the freezer an hour or two before you go to bed. Put a few plastic shopping bags over it to keep ice from forming on the fabric.
  • Hang up your bedding in the coolest part of the house during the day. As soon as you get up, take your bedding to the coolest room in the house (in the basement, or where there's the most shade) and hang up the blankets and sheets so that each side is exposed to the air. Take them down and put them back on your bed just before you go to sleep.
  • Drink a lot of water! The relief is almost immediate, and will last for up to one hour or more. Your body will also feel cooler when you are hydrated. If you can, try drinking eight ounces of water at least every hour. If the taste is a problem, try adding mint leaves, or orange, lemon or cucumber slices to your water to make it more refreshing.
  • Get a cheap spray bottle - fill it with water, adjust it to fine mist and spray it on your exposed skin for an instant chill-zing cooling effect.
  • Wear summer clothing. Wear loosely-woven natural fabrics (cotton, silk, linen) rather than polyester, rayon, or other artificial fibers (with the possible exception of performance fabrics).
  • Wear light colors. Darker colors will absorb the sun's heat and stay warmer longer than light or white clothing, which reflects light and heat. Wear natural summer clothing.
  • Use more eucalyptus and mint. These plants refresh the skin and leave a nice cooling sensation. Try a few minty or menthol products or our own eucalyptus oil shower mist to cool your skin.
  • Use cucumbers. You'd be surprised at how well this one works! Just slice a thin piece of cold cucumber (from the fridge or a cooler) and stick it in the middle of your forehead! This feels fantastic on a hot day or when stuck in a hot car and works almost immediately! An ice cube or a cold soda can work similarly, though the astringency of the cucumber is more refreshing for your eyelids.
Don't wither in the summer heat!  Try these great tips to cool off and enjoy the beauty of the season! For other health and wellness ideas and products, come visit us a Eurospa and let us know what we can do for you!

Happy summer!
